MELANIE BRANTLEY DYKES

I am honored to serve the senior citizens of this county as Director of Union County Senior Citizens Center/Office on Aging. My journey here began in 2011 as the Senior Center Director, and in 2014 I became the Office on Aging Director as well. I work under the supervision of the Union County Mayor and the direction of the East Tennessee Area Agency  on Aging and Disability (ETAAAD).

I am a Certified Information & Referral Specialist for Aging and Disability (CIRS-A/D) and regularly attend training on issues relevant to the senior population such as Alzheimers, Mental Health, Elder Abuse & Depression.  The mission of the Senior Citizens Center/Office on Aging is to enhance the quality of life of our senior citizens and help them remain independent for as long as possible. We provide opportunities for seniors to stay active and our programs focus on health, fitness, recreation and education. We also have outreach efforts to visit those who are isolated or living alone.
